A small place at the edge of the sea
Cwtch y Môr is a thoughtfully designed beachfront duplex for two, with the sea framed in every moment — morning coffee, sunset dinner and the sound of the tide at night.

From the apartment
Watch the tide redraw the beach from breakfast to sunset. The sea fills the open window, the cliffs rise at the end of the strand, and the wide sands bring walkers, horses and a different horizon every hour.

Beyond the beach
Carolles is much more than a beach stop. Light, tides and old paths have shaped a landscape of artists, lookouts and hidden valleys. These are our starting points for discovering it.
Follow two open-air art trails through Carolles: eight displays reconnect paintings with the landscapes that inspired them, while twelve village stops reveal the homes and studios of visiting artists.
A wooded ravine drops between the cliffs to the Port du Lude, a dramatic pebble cove once used by smugglers. In spring, gorse and broom turn the valley yellow above the sound of the tide.
Take the GR223 between the stone guardhouses of Carolles and Champeaux. The 60–80 metre cliffs look across the bay to Tombelaine and Mont-Saint-Michel, with the colours changing hour by hour.
Sail from Granville to an archipelago transformed by Europe’s largest tides: around 365 islets appear at low water. The Grande Île has a beautiful 5.5 km coastal circuit.
Hidden in the Thar valley, this remarkably complete 12th-century Premonstratensian abbey combines pale Romanesque architecture, woodland and more than sixty years of careful restoration.
Experience the bay as a landscape, not just a monument. Official guided crossings reveal the tides, quicksand, wildlife and shifting views of the Mont in the safest and most memorable way.

From our own photo album
The abbey is close enough for an unhurried visit and rewards taking your time. Walk around the millpond and old monastic buildings, then step inside the pale stone church where the simple architecture and extraordinary light do most of the talking.

Carolles-Plage, Normandy
Three restaurants and bistros are in the same building, with more within walking distance. Granville, Saint-Pair-sur-Mer and Jullouville are all within 10 km, while Mont-Saint-Michel makes an unforgettable day out.
No need to drive
Step out for a relaxed meal, a drink or an ice cream without leaving the seafront. Several seasonal restaurants share the building, while another terrace sits in the dunes next door — close enough to wander home along the sand.
